Meet Our Mentors
The Mentors in REM Iowa’s Host Home program are making a difference for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities every day. Meet some of our Mentors who are ready to open their homes and lives to an individual in their communities.
Hopkinton
Meet Mentors Jenny and Mark! They are eager to open to their home an individual who enjoys being around kids, living in the country, and a home where there is always something going on.
They live just 15 minutes North of Monticello in a farm house with their four children (ranging in from ages 4-10) , a dog (primarily outside), and plenty of farm animals to keep them busy.
The individual would have their own room, located on the second floor, so they must have the ability to handle stairs.
The Smiths are very passionate about helping others, and are looking forward to being able to help someone gain independence, learn new skills, and have fun.
The Smiths enjoy spending time together, playing games, being outdoors, and are active in their community and church.
Jenny and Mark are ready to provide encouragement and care to an individual in their home currently, so call now if you or someone you know is looking for 1:1 support!
