About Us
Our services in Mt. Vernon are the latest in an effort to fill identified gaps in services for individuals with developmental disabilities. In a partnership with Community Housing Initiatives, Inc., a private, non-profit development company, REM Iowa Community Services designed a series of condominium-like dwellings specifically to meet the needs of individuals with more complex medical and behavioral needs under the HCBS MR/BI waiver. We also based our offices and vocational programs within walking distance, making access to quality day programming a snap. We couldn't have asked for more support than the community of Mt. Vernon has shown us and continues to show us as the folks we work with make this town their new home.
